Commercial paper writing
Sorry, I'm currently not blogging, as I am working against serious book deadlines. I hope to resume shortly.
However, I'm concerned that a growing number of comments on my blogs are coming from commercial paper writing operations, who are obviously selling papers to college students and using my blog as a source..
There is, of course, nothing I can do about this except to label such comments as spam and delete them. But I just want to say, as a former university teacher, that I regard such operations as both insidious morally indefensible. Unfortunately, people who teach even moderate sized courses have no really effective defense against what is a blatant form of cheating and academic dishonesty. And this is why this degrading activity continues to flourish.
Obviously, I will continue to blog because I'm flattered to find that there are lots of genuine folk who find my posts enjoyable and informative. All I can say to those contemplating buying a paper is that eventually it will catch up with you one way or the other, in the final analysis because if you don't learn it for yourself, you don't know it. And if you're an instructor reading a paper that cites my blog--check carefully. It may be a paperselling service. Not always, of course, but probably sometimes.
Good post. Just thought I'd let you know I just ordered Cro-Magnon" from Amazon. Can't wait to read it! What's next?
